DENVER – NM State's Teddy Allen has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week and Stephen F. Austin's Derrick Tezeno have been named TicketSmarter WAC Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week for February 14 through February 20.

Allen, a junior guard from Phoenix, recorded his seventh and eighth-straight 20-point games as the Aggies picked up wins over Dixie State and Grand Canyon to remain tied with Seattle U atop the WAC standings. Against Dixie State, the guard finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 75-64 win. Returning to his hometown on Saturday, he put on a show against GCU, finishing with 30 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and a steal in an 82-66 win over the Lopes. 

Tezeno, a guard from Melville, La., earned his first start of the year on Wednesday against Chicago State and then came off the bench to score a season-high 14 points on Saturday at Lamar, finishing with 7-of-9 shooting against the Cardinals. He also added five rebounds and assist and a steal in Saturday's win.

Other nominees included: Chicago State's Brandon Betson put up 12 points in each of the Cougars' games this week, adding five assists and three steals in the loss to Stephen F. Austin … Dixie State's Hunter Schofield averaged 20 points per game as the Trailblazers fell at NM State before picking up a big win on Saturday against Utah Valley … Grand Canyon's Holland Woods scored 19.0 points per game as the Lopes earned a win at California Baptist before falling at home to NM State … Sam Houston's Savion Flagg pushed Thursday's game to overtime and then hit the game-winner in a 75-71 win over ACU to finish with 20 points and seven rebounds … Seattle U's Darrion Trammell kept the Redhawks atop the standings with 20.5 points and 5.0 assists per game in wins over UT Rio Grande Valley and California Baptist … Stephen F. Austin's Gavin Kensmil put up 23.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in wins over Chicago State and Lamar … Tarleton's Montre' Gipson averaged 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game in games against Utah Valley and Chicago State … UT Rio Grande Valley's Justin Johnson averaged 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game as the Vaqueros dropped a pair at home to Seattle U and Sam Houston … Utah Valley's Fardaws Aimaq became the first player in the nation to record three 20/20 games with two on the week in a win at Tarleton and a loss at Dixie State.

Other freshman nominees included: California Baptist's Taran Armstrong averaged 7.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in losses to Grand Canyon and Seattle U … Chicago State's Bryce Johnson finished with 17 points and eight rebounds in the Cougars' 88-71 loss at Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday … Grand Canyon's Jayden Stone scored seven points and brought down three rebounds in the Lopes' 82-66 home loss to NM State … Lamar's Avontez Ledet scored 10 points in the Cardinals' 70-56 loss to SFA … UT Rio Grande Valley's RayQuan Taylor scored 13 points in the Vaqueros loss to Seattle U on Wednesday.
