DENVER – Grand Canyon's Fruzsina Macsok and Nortern Arizona's Victoria Knapp has been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for Feb. 2 through 6.
Macsok, a freshman from Gyula, Hungary, collected two individual wins in the Lopes' dual meet against UNLV, Saturday. She performed season best times and won the 200 breastroke (2:21.56) and 400 individual medley (4:29.94).
Knapp, a sophomore from Mesa, Ariz., earned her sixth diver of the week honors after her performance at the Lumberjack Diving Invite, Friday through Sunday. She finished second in the 1-meter (282.95) and 3-meter with a season best score of 334.50, she scored NCAA Qualifying Zone performances on both events. She closed the meet placing sixth in the platform with a score of 230.85, her first NCAA Zone Qualifying performance in the event.
Other swimmer nominee: Seattle U's Lydia Genson contributed three wins in the 200 freestyle (1:53.90), 200 backstroke (2:05.99) and 200 medley relay (1:49.89) in the Redhawks' win over Southwest Oregon CC, Saturday.
Other diver nominee: California Baptist's Paula De Moya placed eighth in the 1-meter (240.1) and third in the platform with a NCAA Zone Qualifying score of 237.2 at the Air Force Diving Invite, Thursday through Saturday ... Grand Canyon's Abigail Erickson placed second in the 3-meter (271.50) and won the 1-meter with a NCAA Zone Qualifying score of 282.95 in the Lopes' dual meet against UNLV.
