MEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: FEB. 2-6
Grand Canyon's Jack Armstrong and Isaac Poole has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week for February 2 through 6.
 
Armstrong, a sophomore from Manvel, Texas, collected three first-place finishes at the Lopes' win over UNLV, Saturday. He won the 50 (20.02) and 100 freestyle (43.93) events, both with WAC top-10 performances according to SwimCloud. He got this third win in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.55 seconds.
 
Poole, a sophomore from Shoreline, Wash., swept the diving events at the Lopes' dual meet win over UNLV. He won both the 1-meter with a score of 320.03) and 3-meter with 320.93, scoring NCAA Zone Qualifying on both events.
 
WOMEN'S ATHLETES OF THE WEEK: FEB. 2-6
Grand Canyon's Fruzsina Macsok and Nortern Arizona's Victoria Knapp has been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week for Feb. 2 through 6.
 
Macsok, a freshman from Gyula, Hungary, collected two individual wins in the Lopes' dual meet against UNLV, Saturday. She performed season best times and won the 200 breastroke (2:21.56) and 400 individual medley (4:29.94). 
 
Knapp, a sophomore from Mesa, Ariz., earned her sixth diver of the week honors after her performance at the Lumberjack Diving Invite, Friday through Sunday. She finished second in the 1-meter (282.95) and 3-meter with a season best score of 334.50, she scored NCAA Qualifying Zone performances on both events. She closed the meet placing sixth in the platform with a score of 230.85, her first NCAA Zone Qualifying performance in the event.
 
OTHER ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Other men's swimmer nominee: Seattle U's Cole Lanting collected three wins in the 200 individual medley (1:55.21), 100 freestyle (46.80) and 200 freestyle relay (1:26.35) in the Redhawks' win over Southwest Oregon CC, Saturday … UNLV's Panos Bolanos remains undefeated in the 200 backstroke (1:47.86) while also winning the 200 freestyle (1:40.20) in the Rebels' dual meet against Grand Canyon.
 
Other men's diver nominees: California Baptist's Evan Honer placed fourth in the 1-meter with an NCAA Zone Qualifying score of 337.7 and seventh in the platform (292.25) at Air Force Diving Invite.
 
Other women's swimmer nominee: Seattle U's Lydia Genson contributed three wins in the 200 freestyle (1:53.90), 200 backstroke (2:05.99) and 200 medley relay (1:49.89) in the Redhawks' win over Southwest Oregon CC, Saturday.
 
Other women's diver nominee: California Baptist's Paula De Moya placed eighth in the 1-meter (240.1) and third in the platform with a NCAA Zone Qualifying score of 237.2 at the Air Force Diving Invite, Thursday through Saturday ... Grand Canyon's Abigail Erickson placed second in the 3-meter (271.50) and won the 1-meter with a NCAA Zone Qualifying score of 282.95 in the Lopes' dual meet against UNLV.
 
AIR FORCE
The Falcons hosted the Air Force Diving Invitational, Thursday through Saturday. 
 
Alex Kenyon led the divers with top-eight finishes in the 1-meter (295.35) and 3-meter (331.95). 
 
CALIFORNIA BAPTIST
The Lancer divers travelled to the Air Force Diving Invitational, Thursday through Saturday. 
 
Women's diver of the week nominee, De Moya, led the Lancer women with an eighth-place finish in the 1-meter and third in the platform. With her was Kiree Lowe who finished ninth in the platfroam with a score of 192.65.
 
Honer took the lead on the men's side with a fourth place finish in the 1-meter and seventh in the platform. Jacob Penman accompanied Honer in the platform, placing 10th with a score of 241.80.
 
GRAND CANYON
The Lopes hosted UNLV for their final dual meet of the season, Saturday.
 
The men outscored the Rebels 150 to 147 while the women fell 123 to 167.
 
Swimmer of the week, Armstrong, led the Lopes with three individual wins. Other wins came from Mikhail Lyubavskiy in the 400 individual medley (3:59.49) and Griffin McKean in the 200 butterfly (1:49.84).
 
Men's diver of the week, Poole, became a critical actor as he swept the diving events.
 
The women were led by swimmer of the week, Macsok, who won two individual events. Other wins came from Robyn Edwards in the 200 backstroke (1:58.87), Maria Chatzi in the 100 freestyle (51.88) and Raphaela Nakashima in the 100 breastroke (1:04.16).
 
The divers were led by Erickson who placed second in the 3-meter and won the 1-meter.
 
IDAHO
The Vandal divers travelled to Flagstaff, Ariz., to compete at the Lumberjack Diving Invitational, Friday through Saturday.
 
Emily Mack stole the spotlight when she placed fifth in the 3-meter with a score of 258.00. With her was Heather Hopkins who placed ninth int he 3-meter (248.50) and 11th in the 1-meter (237.75).
 
NM STATE
The Aggies met up with NAU and Idaho at the Lumberjack Diving Invitational, Friday through Sunday.
 
Showout performance came from Italia Aranzabal when she placed fifth in the 1-meter with a scoer of 265.25 in the finals.
 
NORTHERN ARIZONA
The Lumberjacks hosted their final diving invite of the season in the Lumberjack Diving Invitational, Friday through Sunday.
 
Knapp earned her diver of the week honors two runner-up finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter and a sixth-place finish in the platform. NAU displayed depth with Makenna Sammons placing fourth in the 1-meter (269.35) and fifth in the platform (212.25). With Sammon was Maegan Jensen who picked up a fourth-place finish in the 3-meter (289.05).
 
SEATTLE U
The Redhawks hosted Southwest Oregon for their last dual meet of the season, Saturday.
 
The men outscored the visitors 157 to 99 and the women 180 to 67.
 
Both sides dominated the meet with standout performances from swimmer of the week nominees, Lanting and Genson who both contributed three wins for the men and women, respectively.
 
UNLV
The Rebels travelled to Grand Canyon for their final road dual meet of the season, Saturday.
 
The men fell 147 to 150 against the Lopes. The close meet featured standout Rebel wins from Cameron Castro in the 500 freestyle (4:38.91) and 1650 freestyle (15:42.18), Adnan Beji in the 100 breastroke (55.23) and 200 breastroke (2:03.22), Bolanos in the 200 freestyle and backstroke, and both the 200 medley (1:29.21) and freestyle (1:21.39) relays.
 
WYOMING
The Cowboy divers went on the road to the Air Force Diving Invitational, Thursday through Saturday.
 
Standout performance same from Juan Gonzalez who placed sixth in the platform with a score of 293.70.
