Seven Named All-Americans at NCAA Indoor T&F Championships

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Seven WAC Indoor Track and Field athletes earned All-American honors, four were named First-Team and three were named Second-Team All-Americans at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Birmingham, Alabama, Friday and Saturday.

On the men's side, First-Team honors were earned by Sam Houston's Clayton Fritsch who won a bronze medal in pole vault with a mark of 5.70m (18' 8.25"), and the same event, Stephen F. Austin's Branson Ellis placed fifth with a mark of 5.60m (18' 4.25"). Asani Hylton earned Stephen F. Austin's first heptathlon First-Team All-American honors when he placed eighth in the event with a total score of 5,851 points.

Second-Team honors came from Grand Canyon's Israel Oloyede, tenth in weight throw with a mark of 21.58m (70' 9.75"). Fellow Lope, Ethan Harris, placed ninth in high jump with a mark of 2.15m (7' 0.5").

On the women's side, Sam Houston's KeAyla Dove was named First-Team All-American when she placed fifth in shot put with a mark of 17.39m (57' 0.75"). SFA's Nissi Kabongo earned her Second-Team honors placing 16th in high jump with a 1.73m (5' 8") mark.
