TicketSmarter WAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced

DENVER – Utah Valley's Everlyn Kemboi and Sarah Carillo has been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for March 9 through 13.

Kemboi, a freshman from Merkei, Kenya, went two for two at the Aggie Open, Saturday. She won the 3000 meters (9:29.02) and the 1500 meters with a time of 4:28.97, third in the NCAA performance list according to TFRRS.

Carillo, a freshman from Eagle, Idaho, won the shot put and place third in discus at the Aggie Open. She won the shot put with a mark of 13.35m (43' 9.75") and the discus with 39.90m (130' 11"), 25th and 53rd in the NCAA performance list, respectively, according to TFRRS.

Other track nominees: California Baptist's Greta Karinauskaite won the 5000 meters with a time of 16:16.58 that puts her at the top of the NCAA performance list according to TFRRS at the Ben Brown Invite, Friday ... Dixie State's Amy White finished fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:00.00 that puts her first in te WAC performance list according to TFRRS at the Ben Brown Invite.

Other field nominees: Dixie State's Morgan Callens placed sixth in high jump with a mark of 1.60m (5' 3"), third in the WAC performance list according to TFRRS, at the Ben Brown Invite.
