WAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
 
WOMEN
Utah Valley's Everlyn Kemboi and Sarah Carillo has been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for March 9 through 13.
 
Kemboi, a freshman from Merkei, Kenya, went two for two at the Aggie Open, Saturday. She won the 3000 meters (9:29.02) and the 1500 meters with a time of 4:28.97, third in the NCAA performance list according to TFRRS.
 
Carillo, a freshman from Eagle, Idaho, won the shot put and place third in discus at the Aggie Open. She won the shot put with a mark of 13.35m (43' 9.75") and the discus with 39.90m (130' 11"), 25th and 53rd in the NCAA performance list, respectively, according to TFRRS.
 
Other track nominees: California Baptist's Greta Karinauskaite won the 5000 meters with a time of 16:16.58 that puts her at the top of the NCAA performance list according to TFRRS at the Ben Brown Invitationals, Friday ... Dixie State's Amy White finished fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:00.00, her first in the WAC performance list according to TFRRS at the Ben Brown Invitationals.
 
Other field nominees: Dixie State's Morgan Callens placed sixth in high jump with a mark of 1.60m (5' 3") that puts her third in the WAC performance list according to TFRRS, at the Ben Brown Invitationals.
 
MEN
California Baptist's Florian Le Pallec has been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for March 9 through 13.
 
La Pallec, a senior from Kervignac, France, placed second in the 10000 meters at the Ben Brown Invitational, Friday. Le Pallec's time of 29:22.07 is currently the fastest in the NCAA performance list according to TFRRS.
 
Other track nominees: Utah Valley's Adam Bunker won the 2000-meter Steeplechase (5:53.48) and the placed second in the 3000 meters (8:20.09) at the Aggie Open, Saturday.
 
UP NEXT
WAC teams will be travelling to different meets this weekend where some will get the chance to see each other.
 
Abilene Christian will be hosting the Wes Kittley Invitational and Multi where fellow WAC member, Tarleton, will be visiting, Thursday. While Sam Houston will go on the road for the Houston Spring Break Invitational in Houston on that same day.
 
The Bearkas will go on back-to-back meets to the TSU Relays also in Houston, Friday through Saturday. At the same time, Grand Canyon will meet NM State at Arizona's annual Willie Williams Classic while UTRGV and Stephen F. Austin will be at the UTSA Roadrunner Invitational and Multi in San Antonio, Texas.
 
Lamar and Seattle U will be competing on seperate one day meets, Saturday. The Cardinals will compete at the Ragin' Cajun Invitational while the Redhawks will be at the Oregon State PNW Invitational.
