The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Wednesday the 2021-22 Academic All-America® women's basketball teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA, a list that included California Baptist University redshirt-sophomore forward Caitlyn Harper as a Second Team selection.
Harper led the conference in scoring in the regular season with 523 total points, averaging 18.0 per game on 52.7 percent shooting from the field. She reached double figures in 27 of her 29 games played this season, topping 20 points 11 times during the year, and seven times in WAC play. Harper did it all, rebounding at an average of 6.0 per game, while also averaging 1.6 blocks and 1.3 steals per game.
Harper, a senior accounting major, was nominated for the award by posting a cumulative GPA of 4.00, one of five members on the Division I First, Second, and Third Team lists to do so. Her lengthy record of career and season accomplishments on and off the court compelled voting members from athletic communications offices across the country and across all division to vote her to All-American status.
