BUFFALO - After picking up the WAC's first NCAA Tournament win since 2009, NM State fell just short of moving on to the Sweet Sixteen, falling 53-48 to fourth-seed Arkansas on Saturday night in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament in Buffalo, N.Y.

Both teams struggled to score many points in the first half as the Razorbacks took a 26-17 lead into the halftime break. The Aggies outscored Arkansas, 31-27, in the second half but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.

Johnny McCants made the most of his Aggie finale, putting up 16 points and 12 rebounds in the loss. Teddy Allen added 12 points for the Aggies.

JD Notae led Arkansas with 18 points while Jaylin Williams added 10 points in the win.

The Aggies end the year with a record of 27-7.
