DENVER – The bracket for the 2022 WAC Women’s Tennis tournament is set, with Grand Canyon earning the No. 1 seed for the eight-team event.
The tournament begins on Friday, April 22 in Beaumont, Texas at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center. The tournament concludes on Sunday, April 24 with the championship match set to begin at 1 p.m. The winner of the tournament earns the league’s automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
Grand Canyon earned the No. 1 seed with a 5-0 WAC record, while winning the conference’s Western Division, and will play No. 8 seed Abilene Christian. Serving as the No. 2 seed will be NM State. The Aggies only league loss in five matches came against the Lopes on the season’s final day. They will play No. 7 seed Chicago State. Both of those quarterfinal matches will start at 12 p.m. on Friday
The No. 3 seed Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks and No. 6 seed Sam Houston State Bearkats begin the 3 p.m. window for the quarterfinal matches on Friday, April 22. The final quarterfinal match pits No. 4 UT Rio Grande Valley against No. 5 Seattle U.
