TicketSmarter WAC Golfers of the Week Announced
DENVER – Seattle U's Nathan Cogswell and Lamar's Alessia Trebbi-Tindall have been named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Golfers of the Week, respectively, for March 30 through April 5.
Cogswell, a senior from Kent, Wash., only was able to play one round at the weather-shortened Redhawk Invitational but that round was a gem, shooting a 1-under-pay 70 to tie for second place among 116 golfers and help SU tie for fourth amongst 23 teams. On the season, he holds a 73.3 stroke average.
Trebbi-Tindall, a junior from London, took advantage of playing in Beaumont as she earned medalist honors and led Lamar to the team title at the Cardinal Challenge. After a 2-over-par 74 in the opening round and a 4-over 76 in the second round, she fired her best round of the week in Tuesday's finale, shooting a 1-over-par 73 to finish at 7-over-par and win the tournament by a stroke. The Cardinals' margin of victory as a team was not nearly as close as Lamar outshot second-place Tarleton by 20 strokes to cruise to the tournament win.
