WAC Champions Grand Canyon Heading to Los Angeles Regional
DENVER - After winning their first Western Athletic Conference softball title, Grand Canyon is headed to Los Angeles for the NCAA Division I Regional.
By earning the league's automatic berth into the NCAA postseason, the Lopes will complete in the Southern California four-team regional hosted by No. 6 UCLA.
The Bruins will host the regional from May 20-22 at Easton Stadium. Grand Canyon begins the four-team, double-elimination regional against the hosts. Specific times for first pitch will be released shortly.
Also competing in the regional is Ole Miss and Loyola Marymount.
Grand Canyon won the WAC title by defeating Stephen F. Austin in a winner-take-all championship game.
