DENVER – Air Force’s Thaddaeus Dewing and John Byszewski have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Sept. 12.

Dewing, a junior forward, picked up his third goal of the season for Air Force in a spirited 1-1 draw for the Falcons at No. 3 Washington on Sept. 11. After trailing for all but the first 67 seconds of the match against the high-powered Huskies, Air Force found the equalizer from Dewing at 87:22 on an assist from Remi Smith to square the contest at 1-1.

Byszewski, a senior goalkeeper, battled to keep Air Force in the match at Washington despite missing standout defenders London Aghedo and Tyler Johnson. Byszewski made key saves on a pair of Washington penalty attempts in the 56th and 62nd minutes to keep the score line at 1-0 in favor of the Huskies, setting the stage for Dewing’s late equalizer.
