UTRGV ON TEN-MATCH WINNING STREAK
UTRGV women’s volleyball is now on a program-record 10-match winning streak after beating the University of Montana Grizzlies 3-0 to close out the UTRGV Tournament on Saturday. The previous record was nine-straight wins, accomplished Oct. 4-Nov. 2, 2002 and Nov. 3-15, 2001. At 10-1, the Vaqueros extend their record for best start as an NCAA Division I program and move to the top spot in conference rankings.
SFA IN NATIONAL STATISTICAL RANKINGS
After beginning the season winning nine straight matches, the Lumberjacks were able to crack the top five in two national rankings. SFA is ranked second in the nation in team attacks per set followed by being ranked fifth in digs per set.
SIX WAC MEMBERS HAVE ACTIVE WINNING STREAKS
Entering play on Sept. 13, six different WAC members are in the middle of active winning streaks led by UTRGV with ten straight wins. Utah Valley is now on a five-game winning streak followed by Seattle U (4), UT Arlington (3) and Utah Tech and California Baptist with two-game winning streaks.
UTRGV'S EMILIANO RANKED FIFTH NATIONALLY
With the team being ranked first in conference standings, Luanna Emiliano has proven to be a team player by averaging 11.19 assists per game in her ten games played this season. Emiliano finished last season with 1,057 assists and she has already accounted for 414 assists so far this season.
