TicketSmarter WAC Women's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Announced

ARLINGTON, Texas– NM State’s Aimee Burton and Northern Arizona’s Maegen Jensen have been named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, for the competition week ending on Jan.10.

Burton, a senior from Highlands Ranch, Colo., helped the Aggies to wins over Idaho and Grand Canyon. Burton took first in both the 50 freestyle (23.52) and 100 freestyle (51.92). Burton swam the lead leg to help lead the Aggies to a first-place finish in the 400-freestyle relay with a time of 3:32.46. Burton swam the second leg of the 200-freestyle relay that took second place with a time of 1:47.72.

Jensen, a junior from San Diego, Calif., championed the one-meter dives scoring 286.80 against North Texas and Colorado State. Jensen also brought in a second-place finish in the three-meter dives, scoring 300.60. Both of Jensen’s scores are NCAA zone qualifying.
