ARLINGTON, Texas–Southern Utah’s Cherita Daugherty was named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and Stephen F. Austin’s Jordan Harrison was named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, for the competition week ending on Jan. 16.
Daugherty, a graduate guard, flirted with a triple double against Utah Valley finishing with 18 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. Daugherty followed that performance with a 28-point, six assists and five rebound game against Sam Houston.
Harrison, a guard, extended her streak of double-digit scoring games to six games in a row and 10 games overall. Harrison scored 28 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and recorded eight assists and six steals during last week's contests. Overall, Harrison shot 46.7 from the field, 44.4 from behind the arc, and 10-10 from the free throw line, averaging14 points and seven rebounds last week.
