ARLINGTON, Texas – NM State’s Soufia Inoussa and California Baptist’s Grace Schmidt have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Freshman of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Jan. 29.
Inoussa, a senior guard from Stockholm, Sweden, scored 28 points in a win over Abilene Christian which led all scorers in the game. Inoussa was 10-19 from the field including 5-8 from behind the three-point line. Inoussa was one of five players to score 20 plus points during last week's action.
Schmidt, a forward, averaged 16.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field as California Baptist topped UT Arlington and Stephen F. Austin during last week's action. This is Schmidt’s fifth time being tabbed freshman of the week this season.
