ARLINGTON, Texas – Seattle U’s James Morris and Kotaro Hirokawa and UNLV’s Hugo Lemos have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Oct. 16.
 
Morris, a senior forward, captured his third WAC Offensive Player of the Week award of the season following a 2-0 week for the Redhawks. Morris led the conference with seven points (three goals and an assist) over the Seattle U week. Morris found the match-winner in the 35th minute of a 1-0 shutout on the road at UTRGV on Oct. 12 and tallied the match-winner in the 58th minute, an assist on an insurance goal in the 68th minute and completed his own brace in the 87th minute of a 3-0 win over California Baptist on Oct. 15. Morris was the WAC leader in goals (10) and points (25) through 14 matches as of Oct. 16.
 
Hirokawa, a graduate defender, served as a key contributor to the pair of shutouts on the Seattle U back line. In the 1-0 clean sheet against UTRGV on Oct. 12, the Redhawks limited the Vaqueros to four shots on frame and followed that performance up by blanking CBU entirely in shots on goal in the 3-0 victory on Oct. 15.
 
Lemos, a freshman goalkeeper, picked up his second weekly conference award of the season following a strong showing for 1-0-1 UNLV. In a 1-0 shutout of Utah Tech on Oct. 12, Lemos recorded three saves that included two stops to protect the lead in the second half. Lemos was busy in a 1-1 draw with Utah Valley on Oct. 15, registering seven total saves in the contest.
