ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Sofia Chabon has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Golfer of the Month, for the tournament month of September.
 
Chabon, a graduate student, won the Payne Stewart Memorial in Springfield, Missouri, the first collegiate win of her career, as she shot under par every round on Sept. 11-12. Chabon carded rounds of 71-68-69=208 on the par-72, 7066-yard Rivercut Golf Course. Chabon rounded out the two-day competition by going 8-under for a first-place finish. She led the Lancers to a third-place finish to open the year.
