BRACKET IS SET FOR WAC VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT!

Eight teams are set to play in the 2023 WAC Volleyball Tournament in Orem, Utah. No. 1 seed and defending champion Stephen F. Austin, No. 2 seed Grand Canyon, No. 3 seed UTRGV, No. 4 seed UT Arlington, No. 5 seed and host Utah Valley, No. 6 seed Tarleton State, No. 7 California Baptist and No. 8 seed Abilene Christian will compete for the conference championship Nov. 16-18 at Lockhart Arena on Utah Valley’s campus.

NO.1 'JACKS LOOKING TO EARN SECOND CONSECUTIVE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
Entering the 2023 WAC Volleyball Tournament as the top seed, Stephen F. Austin will attempt to win its second consecutive tournament title since joining the WAC in 2021. The ‘Jacks continue to improve in the WAC as they were 8-5 in conference play in 2021 (sixth seed), 11-3 in 2022 (second seed) and now boasts a perfect 16-0 conference run. Since the championship’s inception in 1996, the top-seeded team has won the WAC Volleyball Tournament on 14 occasions (1997, 2001-2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2018-2021).

UTAH VALLEY MAKES 11TH STRAIGHT TOURNAMENT APPEARANCE
2023 WAC Tournament host Utah Valley makes its 11th straight tournament appearance since joining the WAC in 2013. The Wolverines have made it to the championship round four times, winning their first WAC championship title in the fall of 2021 after defeating Grand Canyon 25-18, 25-22, 25-16 as the No. 7 seed.

WAC TOURNAMENT DEBUT FOR TARLETON STATE
Since joining the WAC in 2019, Tarleton State is set to compete in postseason play for the first time since becoming a Division l program. The Texans finished 7-9 in conference play after being picked to finish ninth in the 2023 Preseason Coaches Poll.

NCAA RPI RANKINGS 
In the latest release of the NCAA RPI for the 2023 season on Nov. 12., Stephen F. Austin ranked among the national top 50 in the key metric that helps seed the NCAA Championship. The ‘Jacks checked in at 38th with an impressive 27-3 overall record.
