2023 DI Women’s Volleyball Championship Bracket
ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon, the winner of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Tournament and conference automatic bid, and Stephen F. Austin, the top team in the WAC regular-season standings, officially received entry into the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship on Sunday.
The 2023 NCAA Championship marks the 19th time that multiple WAC volleyball teams have qualified for the national tournament, the most recent being the 2010 season. WAC programs have previously reached the NCAA semifinals on six occasions (BYU in 1993, Hawaii in 1996, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2009). WAC programs have advanced at least one round in 21 prior NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championships.
Grand Canyon (23-7) earned its first WAC volleyball championship title following a dominant 3-1 victory over Stephen F. Austin on Nov. 18 in Orem, Utah. The Lopes were placed in the bottom left quadrant and will face No. 4 Washington State in the first round on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. PT in Pullman, Washington. The winner will advance to play against No. 5 Dayton/Pepperdine. Grand Canyon is on a four-match winning streak entering in its first NCAA Championship appearance.
Stephen F. Austin (29-4) starts off its 2023 NCAA Championship journey as an at-large selection at No. 3 Arkansas on Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. CT. The ‘Jacks went undefeated during conference play (16-0) and are set to make their second consecutive NCAA appearance as a WAC member. The winner will advance to face off against No. 6 Florida State/TCU.
The 2023 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship will be held at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The national semifinals will be held on December 14, 2023. The two teams winning in the semifinals will advance and compete in the national championship which will take place December 17,2023.
