ARLINGTON, Texas – Stephen F. Austin’s
Kurstyn Harden and Abilene Christian’s
Payton Hull have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Nov. 26.
Harden, a senior center, recorded 43 points in Stephen F. Austin wins over Texas Southern and Rice. Harden played 60 minutes and recorded 20 rebounds, one assists, and two steals. She averaged 21 points per game, shot 71.4% (15-21) from the field and 85.7% (12-14) from the free throw line. Harden recorded her first double-double of the season against Rice with 23 points and 15 rebounds. She led the Ladyjacks in points in both games last week and has recorded double-digit points every game this season.
Hull, a freshman guard, averaged 19.5 points and 4.5 rebounds last week. Hull recorded 34 points and seven rebounds in a win over Navy. Hull’s 34 points and nine three-pointers, hitting 9 of 16 from the perimeter tied for ACU’s DI-era record that was set during the 2022-23 season.
