WEEK 11 NOTES (pdf)
#UACFOOTBALL -- Championship opportunities and a potential FCS Playoff bid highlight the penultimate Saturday of United Athletic Conference (UAC) Football action as Week 11 features a full slate of head-to-head conference clashes.
Austin Peay (7-2, 4-0 UAC), ranked No. 14/20 and currently sitting alone at the top of the UAC standings, welcomes Utah Tech (2-7, 1-3 UAC) to "The Fort" in the day's first game. The Govs, undefeated in league play, are riding a seven-game win streak into the first-ever contest for the Trailblazers in the "Volunteer State". APSU would secure at least a share of a UAC Championship with a victory and would earn the FCS Playoff AQ if EKU tops #24 Central Arkansas later in the day.
Tarleton State (7-3, 3-2 UAC) has already secured its most season wins as a DI program and looks to end the season on a four-game win streak when it travels in-state for a meeting at Abilene Christian (5-4, 3-2 UAC). The Wildcats and Texans could both still claim a share of the conference crown with a win on Saturday along with some losses by other league squads.
Southern Utah (4-5, 2-2 UAC) begins its two-game road swing to close out the regular season with a game at Stephen F. Austin (3-6, 0-4 UAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Lumberjacks are in search of their first UAC victory of the season and earned a 41-38 win over the Thunderbirds last season.
In a battle of one-loss UAC squads, EKU (4-5, 3-1 UAC) squares off with No. 24 Central Arkansas (6-3, 3-1 UAC) on "The Stripes" in Conway to close out competition on Saturday. A win for either the Colonels or Bears would keep their hopes for a share of the UAC title in tact, while a loss coupled by an Austin Peay win earlier in the day would eliminate one of them from contention.
