2023 WAC WSOC Release Week 12 

 GRAND CANYON CAPTURES WAC TOURNAMENT TITLE
The Grand Canyon Lopes are the 2023 WAC Tournament Champions! The Lopes shutout Utah Tech 3-0 in the opening round, upset Utah Valley 2-1 in the semifinal, and dominated Seattle U 4-2 to win the championship.
 
GOURLEY NAMED TOURNAMENT MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER
Grand Canyon’s Gianna Gourley was named the 2023 WAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player for her outstanding play during last week’s tournament. Gourley recorded three goals, two against Utah Tech and one against Seattle U. During the tournament she extended her single-season program goal record to 21.
 
NCAA WOMEN’S SOCCER TOURNAMENT
The 2023 WAC Women’s Soccer Tournament Champions Grand Canyon officially received the conference’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Tournament on Monday, Nov. 5.
 
The Lopes were placed in the top right quadrant of the bracket and will face USC in the first round on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. (PT) in Los Angeles. The winner with face off against the winner of No. 1 BYU and Utah State.
 
The second/third rounds will be held Nov. 17 and 19, with the quarterfinals on Nov. 24 or 25. This 42nd annual NCAA Women’s College Cup will be played on Dec. 1 and 4 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C
