ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Erin Brown and Eric Cabais-Fernandez have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the week ending on Saturday, Dec. 9.
 
Brown (Sr.) broke the GCU school record at the Spokane Invitational and ran the fastest 200-meter dash time in the nation thus far with a time of 20.79, only one of two runners in the country with a time under 21 seconds. Brown also tied for the WAC lead in the 60-meter dash with 6.76 seconds, ranking 25^th in the country.
 
Cabais-Fernandez (Jr.) placed second in the pole vault at the Spokane Invitational with a mark of 5.05m, ranking first in the WAC and 21^st in the nation.
