ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Tyon Grant-Foster has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Dec. 3.
 
Grant-Foster, a senior transfer guard, put forth a stellar week in his first two conference games in a GCU uniform, leading the WAC in scoring (23.0 points per game) and rebounding (10.5 rebounds per game) while shooting an even 50 percent (14-of-28) from the field to kick off the 2023-24 conference slate for the 2-0 Lopes. Grant-Foster logged 25 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and blocked three shots for GCU in a 79-69 win at UTRGV on Nov. 29 to open conference play. In a 76-69 home league win over UT Arlington on Dec. 2, Grant-Foster connected on 11-of-14 attempts from the free-throw line and scored 21 points to go along with 10 rebounds (five offensive) and three steals.
