Arlington, Texas Utah Tech’s Tanya Windle and California Baptist’s Presley Hosick have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Feb. 12.

Windle, a freshman outfielder from Glendale, Arizona, was named Paradise Classic MVP after she hit .438 (7-16) with three extra base hits, six RBI’s and four runs scored. Windle hit safely in four of the five games, highlighted by a 3-4 effort against Hawaii on Saturday. Windle was a HR shy of hitting for the cycle and drove in three runs in UT’s 12-3 win.

Hosick, a freshman from Bakersfield, California, threw the first no-hitter in the Division I era for CBU against a strong offensive Power 5 team in Wisconsin in the true freshman’s collegiate debut. Hosick struck out five, walked four, and no Badger ever got past second base in seven innings. Hosick followed that up with a 2/3 inning effort against Maryland, adding two more outs to her hitless streak and securing her first career save. Hosick would later be named to the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge All-Tournament Team.
