TicketSmarter WAC Golfers Of The Week Announced
ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Brady McKinlay and Tarleton’s Rebeca Fernandez and California Baptist’s Hailey Loh have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Golfers of the Week, for the competition week ending on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
McKinlay, a senior, captured his fourth career individual tournament victory in leading Utah Valley to a 20-shot team triumph at the Southern Utah Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational on Feb. 10-12 at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah. McKinlay carded rounds of 68-74-65=207 (-9) to best Tarleton’s Jack Anderson by one stroke for medalist honors on the par-72, 6,781-yard layout. McKinlay rolled in six birdies and an eagle in his final round 65, tying Anderson for the low 18-hole round of the tournament, and bested the field scoring average of 74.61 in each round.
Fernandez, a freshman, and Loh, a junior, shared second place on the individual leaderboard at the Utah Tech Café Zupas Trailblazer Invitational on Feb. 13-14 at the Green Spring Golf Course in Washington, Utah. Both players carded matching rounds of 73-75=148 (+4) in the 36-hole tournament that was shortened due to inclement weather. Fernandez and Loh were tied for second in the field in par-3 scoring (3.13, +1) and Loh checked in second in par-4 scoring (4.10, +2).
