TicketSmarter WAC Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week Announced
Arlington, Texas – Utah Tech’s Hannah Hughbanks and Seattle U’s Stefanie Madrigal have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Feb. 26.
Hughbanks, a senior infielder from Chino Hills, California, hit .636 in four starts (7-11) with two homers, one double, 10 RBI and eight runs scored. Hughbanks slugged 1.273 and drew six walks to finish the weekend with a .765 OB%. Hughbanks hit safely in all four starts, with two hits in each of the first three games of the weekend, highlighted by a 2-2 day with a homer, four RBI and four runs scored in G2 vs. SLU. Hughbanks also hit a two-run HR in UT’s win Sunday vs. Weber State.
Madrigal, a senior from San Jose, California, finished 3-0 with a .88 ERA in 16 innings pitching. Madrigal threw two complete games with six strikeouts. Madrigal only allowed 12 hits, three runs and four walks.
