Starr Jacobs Captures 2022-23 WAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year Award

ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington standout Starr Jacobs capped her debut regular season in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) by being voted as the top women’s basketball player in the league during the 2022-23 campaign, based on polling of the conference’s head coaches.

Jacobs highlighted five different individual award winners as the WAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Year. Other top award winners included Southern Utah’s Tomekia Whitman (Sixth Woman and Newcomer of the Year), Lizzy Williamson (Defensive Player of the Year and head coach Tracy Sanders (Coach of the Year), and Stephen F. Austin’s Jordan Harrison (Freshman of the Year).

WAC regular-season champion Southern Utah and Stephen F. Austin each boasted three total all-conference selections to pace the league.
