TicketSmarter WAC Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week Announced
Arlington, Texas – Seattle U’s Jocelynn De La Cruz and Sam Houston’s Emma Guindon have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Mar. 5.
De La Cruz, a graduate infielder from Menifee, California, hit .471 average, 13 RBIs, four home runs, and one double. De La Cruz hit two home runs (back-to-back) against Fresno St. in a 9-4 win. De La Cruz also hit a two-run home run in a 6-0 win over San Jose State. De La Cruz hit a grand slam that ended up as the winning runs against Minnesota in a 9-6 win.
Guindon, a graduate from Tomball, Texas, threw seven-shutout innings and gave up five hits with two strikeouts to get the win in Sam Houston’s 4-0 upset of No. 25 Texas A&M at the Ode to Joy Classic at Baylor.
