TicketSmarter WAC Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week Announced
Arlington, Texas – NM State’s Kayla Bowen and Utah Tech’s Kate Dolinski have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Apr. 10.
Bowen, a graduate utility player from Fresno, California, went 6-9 for the weekend against Sam Houston. Bowen finished with eight RBIs, three home runs, five runs scored, a double, and three walks. Bowen set new season highs in hits, home runs, runs scored, runs batted in and putouts.
Dolinski, a redshirt senior from Fort Langley, British Columbia, went 2-0 in two starts vs. Seattle U, striking out five allowing only one earned run (two total) and eight hits in 12.0 IP over her two outings. The Redhawks batted just .178 against her while she finished the weekend with a 0.58 ERA. Dolinski picked up her first win in the series opener by scattering two runs (one earned) and four hits with a pair of strikeouts in the five-inning complete game win. Dolinski followed that up with a four-hit shutout in Saturday’s finale, during which she fanned three and only had one Redhawk baserunner reach third base on the afternoon.
