TicketSmarter WAC Outdoor Track & Field Athletes Of The Week Announced
ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Erin Brown, Stephen F. Austin’s Kayson Elijah, UT Arlington’s Tatyana Terrell and Utah Valley’s Kelsi Oldroyd have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the competition week ending on Sunday, April 23.
Brown, a junior, placed second in the men’s 400-meter dash at the Canyon Invitational April 21-22. Brown was the top collegiate finisher with a time of 46.45, the top time in the WAC and ranked 59th in the WAC as of April 26.
Elijah, a sophomore, placed sixth in the men’s hammer throw at the John Jacobs Invitational on April 21-22. Elijah’s top throw of 58.12m (190-8.0) ranked first in the WAC as of April 26.
Terrell, a senior, checked in seventh in a competitive women’s 400-meter dash at the Michael Johnson Invitational on April 21-22. Terrell’s finals time of 53.34 was second in the WAC and in the top 75 in the nation this season as of April 26.
Oldroyd, a sophomore, captured the women’s javelin event win at the BYU Robison Invitational on April 22. Oldroyd cleared 56.66m (185-11.0) on her first attempt in the victory, the best throw in the conference and the seventh-best attempt in the NCAA as of April 26.
