TicketSmarter WAC Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week Announced
Arlington, Texas – NM State’s Kayla Bowen and Tarleton’s Tristan Bridges have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Apr. 2.
Bowen, a graduate utility player from Fresno, California, went 5-8 for the weekend against Grand Canyon. Bowen finished with three RBIs, two homeruns, two runs scored, a double, a stolen base and a walk. Bowen also hit the two-run walk-off home run on Saturday to vault the Aggies over the Lopes.
Bridges, a senior from Denton, Texas, threw her first career no-hitter in the series opener against California Baptist on Friday in Stephenville. Bridges didn’t walk a batter and only faced two batters over the minimum (hbp, error). The senior southpaw started two games on the weekend and went all seven innings in both.
