TicketSmarter WAC Baseball Players Of The Week Announced
ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Homer Bush Jr. and Utah Valley’s Casey Anderson have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, April 2.
Bush, a junior outfielder, batted .600 with a .714 on-base percentage in four games for GCU, leading the WAC in OBP, hits (9), runs (8) and stolen bases (3) last week. Bush reached safely in four plate appearances with two RBI and two runs at Arizona on March 28, reached base in five of six plate appearances with two steals and three runs to open the series at Utah Valley on March 31 and added two hits with a stolen base and a run to claim the series victory from the Wolverines on April 1.
Anderson, a junior right-hander, threw 5.0 innings of no-hit, shutout relief for Utah Valley in the series finale against GCU on April 2 to earn the win in a comeback triumph. Anderson allowed just two baserunners, one by walk and one hit by pitch, and struck out four Lopes on 64 pitches to help the Wolverines complete the rally.
