NM State Captures First-Ever WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – New Mexico State captured their first-ever WAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field championship on Saturday night, scoring 136 points. Aggies Sophomore Jhana Downie was named WAC Outstanding Track Performer after winning both the 200 and 400 meter dashes on the final night of competition.

“The word was just believe, coming off indoors to come into this, we were very excited to get a shot at this, and they just believed all the way through, every single event,” said NM State Head Coach Joseph Rath who was named WAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year.
