TicketSmarter WAC Outdoor Track & Field Athletes Of The Week Announced
ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Jack Marshall, Nathanial Collier and Zoe Burleson, and Utah Valley’s Everlyn Kemboi have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the competition week ending on Sunday, April 30.
Marshall, a junior, captured runner-up honors in the men’s 100-meter dash during the Oliver Jackson Twilight on April 27. Marshall’s time of 10.32 was the second-fastest in the WAC this season and was a top-100 national time as of May 3.
Collier, a redshirt freshman, placed fifth in the men’s discus at the Corky/Crofoot Shootout on April 28-29. Collier’s fourth-round throw of 55.95m (183-7.0) ranked second in the conference and 59th in the NCAA as of May 3.
Kemboi, a senior, won her third weekly conference honor of the outdoor season after a school record performance in the women’s 1500-meter run at the Bengal Invitational on April 28. Kemboi posted an altitude adjusted time of 4:12.71 to log the fastest conference time in the event this season and rank 19th nationally as of May 3.
Burleson, a sophomore, won the women’s discus throw at the Corky/Crofoot Shootout on April 28-29. Burleson registered a second throw that covered 57.24m (187-9.0) for the top mark thus far this season in the WAC and ranked 14th in NCAA Division I as of May 3.
