TicketSmarter WAC Softball Players Of The Week Announced
ARLINGTON, Texas – Seattle U’s Tai Wilson and UT Arlington’s Jessica Adams have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, May 6.
Wilson, a sophomore outfielder, batted .727 with eight hits, three RBI and five total runs scored as the designated player in a three-game road sweep at California Baptist. Wilson went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs in the opening game of a doubleheader on May 5 before posting an additional 3-for-4 showing with two runs in the nightcap. Wilson capped the series 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored for Seattle U.
Adams, a sophomore, appeared in all three games of a series victory against Sam Houston to vault UTA in the WAC softball postseason tournament. Adams posted a 2-0 record with a 0.95 ERA, making one starts. Adams tossed three no-hit innings in relief in setback on May 5 but bounced back with a two-hit shutout with three strikeouts in game one on May 6. Adams spun 6.2 innings of relief with two earned runs allowed and two punchouts in an extra-inning triumph to claim the series.
