Jessica Radford Joins WAC As Assistant Director of Communications

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) has hired Jessica Radford as the Conference’s assistant director of communications. As part of her duties Radford will oversee the communications efforts of several WAC sports, including women’s basketball, women’s soccer, volleyball and softball.

Radford arrived at the WAC after spending the 2022-23 academic year as the communications assistant at Conference USA in Dallas. Radford worked directly with volleyball, cross country, track & field and women’s tennis while with CUSA. Radford helped publicize a pair of NCAA Volleyball Championship qualifiers and four AVCA All-America selections, a regional NCAA individual cross country champion, 22 track & field All-Americans and two NCAA Women’s Tennis Championship qualifying teams among CUSA members.

Prior to CUSA, Radford was a media relations assistant in athletics at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, during the 2021-22 academic year. While at Pacific, Radford was the primary sport contact for men’s and women’s water polo, golf and women’s tennis, serving as a statistician for volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball games. Radford was also a student-athlete mentor and interned in the athletics box office at Pacific.

Radford competed as a four-year volleyball student-athlete at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia, playing middle blocker and right-side hitter for the Spartans. Radford was a seven-time AD’s Honor Roll selection and a three-time Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Academic Team choice. Radford was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society at Norfolk State.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Radford graduated from Norfolk State with a bachelor's degree in mass communications with a focus in general broadcasting in May of 2020. Radford earned a master’s degree in communications with a focus in media and public relations from Pacific in May of 2022.
