DeAira Jackson have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Aug. 28.
Gourley, a senior forward, scored four goals in an unbeaten weekend for the Lopes. Gourley scored in a 1-1 draw at Arizona before recording her third career hat trick in a 5-0 win over CSU Bakersfield. Gourley leads the WAC with five goals and 11 points, both of which are top-10 marks in the nation.
Stephens, a junior defender, anchored a back line that helped produce ACU's school-record fourth consecutive shutout to start the season. The Wildcats are off to the best start in the program’s Division I era, tying at UTEP 0-0 on Aug. 24 and a dominant 4-0 win against Nicholls on Aug. 27.
Jackson, a junior goalkeeper, allowed just one goal in an unbeaten week for GCU. Against Pac-12 foe Arizona, Jackson allowed just one goal and made a season-high seven saves while facing 18 shots. Following that performance Jackson recorded her second shutout of the season in a 5-0 win over CSUB. Jackson made five more saves and she ranks second in the WAC with a .842 save percentage.
