UACFOOTBALL -- With only a couple weeks remaining before opening kickoff of the inaugural season for the United Athletic Conference (UAC) football, the Stats Perform FCS Preseason Top 25 Poll was released (Aug. 7) and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) debuted on Aug. 14 with four squads from the league included in the listing.

In the Stats Perform poll, EKU, a 2022 FCS Playoff participant and one of the regular season champions in the ASUN, was tabbed No. 24. Central Arkansas, another of the ASUN champions last year, collected 110 points on the ballot and finished as the top ranked squad in the receiving votes category. Austin Peay, the other ASUN champion a year ago, was joined by Abilene Christian, one of the top squads in the WAC last season, as the other two UAC programs garnering votes in the preseason poll.

The preseason AFCA Coaches poll, saw all four of the squads in the Stats Perform list included in the receiving votes category. EKU secured the most votes finishing just outside the Top 25 threshold with 59 points followed by UCA with 24, ACU with four and APSU with three.
