ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Luis Mueller and Grand Canyon’s Clayton Duarte and Leon Schmidt have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Sept. 11.
 
Mueller, a senior forward, tallied a pair of goals for CBU during a 1-1 week at home. Mueller struck just 2:16 into the match for the opening goal and added a free kick insurance goal at 70:32 in a 3-1 win against CSUN on Sept. 10. Mueller scored on both of his shots on goal in 75 minutes of play in the victory against CSUN.
 
Duarte, a junior defender/midfielder, was a key contributor for GCU in an impressive 3-0 shutout of Stetson on Sept. 8. Duarte scored the match-winning goal at 11:54 to open the GCU scoring surge and was part of a lineup that kept Stetson off the scoreboard.
 
Schmidt, a junior goalkeeper, repeated as the conference’s goalkeeper of the week following the 3-0 clean sheet against Stetson on Sept. 8. Schmidt made six saves in the win versus Stetson, including being credited for five stops in the final 30 minutes of the match. Schmidt was the WAC leader in saves (30) and saves per match (6.00) and ranked second in save percentage (.769) and third in goals against average (1.80) as of Sept. 12.
