ARLINGTON, Texas – UTRGV’s Zoe Adams and Stephen F. Austin’s Bre Dowell have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, Jan. 14.
 
Adams (Jr.) turned in a pair of solid races in her UTRGV debut in the Arkansas Invitational. Adams placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.29, which puts her first in the WAC and sixth in the UTRGV indoor program history books. Adams ran a 25.30 200-meter dash, finishing 12^th in the meet and ranking seventh in the WAC. Adams also helped UTRGV place 12^th in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:55.88, good enough for third in the conference.
 
Dowell (So.) placed first in the Arkansas Invitational’s weight throw with a mark of 17.75 meters. Dowell’s throw set a new personal best and currently sits atop the WAC in the weight throw category.
