ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s KiAndre Gaddy and UTRGV’s Elijah Elliott have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Dec. 31.
 
Gaddy, a senior forward, turned in his conference-high fifth double-double of the season during a 79-66 win for Tarleton State at Loyola Marymount on Dec. 30. Gaddy scored a game-high 24 points and pulled down 12 rebounds (five offensive) in the victory, adding three assists to his stat line. Gaddy finished the game 11-of-17 from the floor (64.7 percent), which included a 6-for-8 effort and 14 points in the second half alone.
 
Elliott, a junior transfer guard, scored a game-high 21 points as a reserve for UTRGV in a 77-74 triumph over Incarnate Word on Dec. 30. Elliott chipped in three rebounds, three assists and four steals to the Vaquero cause.
