YOU CAN’T MAKE LEMONADE WITHOUT A LITTLE JUICE
California Baptist guard
Khloe Lemon has been one of the key pieces to the Lancers success this 2023-24 season and she’s just a freshman. Lemon led all WAC players in scoring last week as she recorded a career-high 28 points in 28 minutes of play and added five rebounds, two assists and two steals on 12-of-17 shooting from the field in California Baptist’s 93-67 win over Southern Utah. The scoring effort was tied for the third-most in a game by a CBU player this season and tied the freshman single-game scoring record against a Division I opponent, matching teammate Grace Schmidt’s effort against Utah Valley during the 2022-23 campaign.
WE LOVE A DOUBLE-OVERTIME THIRLLER
Seattle U’s defensive efforts nearly secured a win over conference leader Grand Canyon.
Trinity San Antonio hit a jumper for the Lopes with 1:45 left to go in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 61-61 and force overtime.
Naudia Evans made two crucial free throws to tie the game again at 69-69 to take the game into double-overtime. Grand Canyon secured a 84-73 win over the Redhawks, extending the Lopes winning streak to eight.
YES, YOU’VE BEEN HACKED
UTRGV went undefeated in WAC play last weekend, securing wins over UT Arlington (64-62) and Tarleton State (61-57). The Vaqueros were led by junior guard/forward
Kade Hackerott as she averaged 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds. Hackerott posted her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds versus UT Arlington, she then followed that with 12 points and five rebounds against Tarleton State.
