ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Germain Lemaitre and Southern Utah’s Astley Davis have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, for the week ending on Sunday, Jan. 21.
 
Lemaitre (So.) competed in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational’s 800-meter race where he finished third overall with a time of 1.49:76 (1:49.15 with altitude adjusted), breaking the Grand Canyon school record. Lemaitre’s time puts him atop of the WAC’s 800-meters leaderboard and sixth place in the national standings.
 
Davis (Sr.) put up a pair of solid finishes at the Lumberjack Team Challenge that ended up placing him on the national leaderboards. Davis currently sits 23^rd in the NCAA’s triple jump standings, and first in the WAC, after placing first overall at the meet with a mark of 15.49 meters, which is also a Southern Utah school record. Davis also finished second in the long jump with a mark of 7.52 meters, placing him third in the conference and 45^th nationally.
