INDIANAPOLIS – UT Arlington’s Avery Brittingham was selected as one of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association National Players of the Week for games ending the week of Jan. 7. Brittingham became the third WAC player to earn this honor, joining Tyonna Outland (CSU Bakersfield, 2014) and Keila Shelton (Louisiana Tech, 2013).

Brittingham, a senior forward, recorded her second career triple-double posting 11 points, matching a career-best 11 assists and added 10 rebounds in a win against Stephen F. Austin. She is the fifth player in WAC history to have multiple triple-doubles. She also marked the second triple-double in UT Arlington history, the Mavs first since 2002.
