DOUBLE BRACES FOR UTAH VALLEY
Utah Valley’s Faith Webber and Nixan Jackson each recorded two goals in the Wolverines’ conference opening victory against Tarleton State 5-2, extending their winning streak to four games. Webber continues to lead the WAC with 10 goals and Jackson has recorded two braces in the last three matches. Webber now needs just one more goal to hold the most career goals in UVU’s program history.
ALANA LAMB LEADS SEATTLE U TO VICTORY
Seattle U claimed the 3-1 victory over Abilene Christian thanks to Alana Lamb’s first two collegiate goals. Lamb scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 54th minute of the match and secured her first career brace in the 72nd minute. Lamb became the ninth different Redhawk to score a goal this season.
AJ LOERA SCORES GAME-WINNER FOR GRAND CANYON ON LATE PK
Grand Canyon battled back from an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Utah Tech 2-1 after a late penalty in the 87th minute allowed AJ Loera to kick the game-winning penalty shot into the bottom-right quadrant of the goal to give the Lopes the win. It was Loera’s first goal of the season and the first since her third career game in 2022.
FOUR LANCERS SCORE IN CALIFORNIA BAPTIST’S SENIOR NIGHT
California Baptist celebrated its 12 seniors on Saturday night in a match against Southern Utah and came home with the 5-1 victory as four different Lancers were able to find the back of the net. Sophia Petrov scored the opening goal of the match and after Southern Utah responded with an equalizer, Nikki Mau scored the game winner right before the half. Lauryn White and Daisy Miller were able to tag on two more goals before the conclusion of the 90 minutes along with an SUU own goal.
WAC RPI RANKINGS
Through all games completed by September 30, the WAC continues to hold three teams inside the NCAA Women’s Soccer RPI top 100. Utah Valley ranks the highest at 85th with Seattle U at 98th and Grand Canyon at 100th.
