ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Bella Piete, Seattle U’s Kait Raffensperger, and California Baptist’s Mikayla O’Brien have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player, and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Sunday, Oct. 13.
 
Piete, a senior midfielder, scored three points in Grand Canyon’s 3-1 win at Southern Utah. Piete scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 29^th minute and assisted the team’s third goal just two minutes later. Piete now co-leads the Lopes in points (8) and goals (3).
 
Raffensperger, a senior defender, played every minute in Seattle U’s match against Tarleton State where the Redhawks captured the 1-0 shutout victory. Raffensperger and the Seattle U defense held the Texans to just three total shots, two shots going towards goal.
 
O’Brien, a junior goalkeeper, protected the net for a full 90 minutes in California Baptist’s 1-0 win against Utah Tech. O’Brien saved all five shots on goal the Trailblazers fired at her and preserved the shutout for the Lancers. O’Brien leads the WAC in save percentage (.917) and goals against average (0.43).
