#UACFOOTBALL -- United Athletic Conference (UAC) Football announced its Week 10 award winners on Monday, handing out Player of the Week accolades to the Central Arkansas duo of David Walker (Defensive) and Malachi Henry (Freshman) along with EKU's Joshua Carter (Offensive) and Justin Luke (Specialist) from North Alabama. Walker was the only repeat weekly winner in the group.
A redshirt-senior running back, Carter had a career-best performance on Saturday leading the Colonels to a 28-17 win over Utah Tech. Carter had a career-high 167 yards rushing on 31 carries averaging 5.4 yards per carry providing the first and final touchdowns for EKU in the winning effort on Homecoming.
Walker, a senior defensive lineman, tallied nine tackles (six solos) including 3.0 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks. The defensive menace forced a school-record three fumbles and recovered one of those. Walker broke the UCA school record for career tackles for loss and now has 54.5 in just 2 ½ years and earned the L.B. Jackman Award as the MVP of the Homecoming game. He was also named the Reese's Senior Bowl Defensive Player of the Week.
A redshirt-junior kick returner, Luke totalled 103 yards on three kickoff returns against No. 10 Central Arkansas, marking the most single-game kick return yards by a UNA player since 2019. Luke had a long return of 82 yards setting up the Lions for score moments later. He is the first kick returner at UNA over 100 yards since 2019.
A redshirt freshman wideout for the Bears, Henry caught two passes and both went for touchdowns in UCA's win over UNA. Henry had a 21-yard TD reception early in the 3rd quarter and then added a 69-yarder in the fourth quarter.
