ARLINGTON, Texas – UNLV’s Nico Lopez, UTRGV’s Kimito Fritz and San Diego State’s Djibril Doumbia have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Oct. 28.

Lopez, a senior midfielder, scored a pair of goals for UNLV in a 3-0 win at Air Force on Oct. 27, running the active unbeaten streak of the Rebels to seven straight matches. Lopez found the back of the net at 45:52 and added an insurance goal at 89:41 to complete his second brace in his past four starts in the win over the Falcons.

Fritz, a junior defender, played the full 90 minutes in a pair of UTRGV clean sheets at home against conference leader San Diego State and two-time defending WAC champion California Baptist. The Vaqueros limited SDSU to three shots on goal in a scoreless draw on Oct. 24 and held CBU without a shot on frame in a 2-0 victory on Oct. 27. Fritz also added an assist on the winning UTRGV goal against CBU.

Doumbia, a senior goalkeeper, remained unbeaten over his last seven starts after logging two clean sheets last week in a scoreless draw at UTRGV on Oct. 24 and a 1-0 win at Grand Canyon on Oct. 27. Doumbia was credited with four saves in the UTRGV match and turned aside three shots in the GCU victory.
